Ex- IEBC commissioner Roselyne Akombe will no longer give interviews to the media, reports the Daily Nation.

Moments before the controversial presidential repeat poll in October, the outspoken commissioner announced her resignation citing external interference and death threats.

"It is not an easy decision and it will hurt a number of you but I have to bow out. A number of commissioners are no longer interested to discuss issues and they come to plenary when decided," she said.

But two weeks after her resignation, Akombe went back to her old job in United Nations where she had been working as an under-secretary before joining IEBC.

And in an exclusive interview with the Nation, Akombe said she is no longer allowed to give media interviews as it is part of her contractual requirements.

"Yes, I am back to my old job but I am prohibited to from talking to the press. This is stated in my contract," she said.

Born in Nyamira, Akombe went through the University of Nairobi where she did Bachelors of Education before getting a scholarship to study in the US.

In her resignation, she accused IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati of being a 'coward' for failing to make tough decisions even though she admitted that he was under siege.
