The middle-aged man was hit by the private car which sped off.

Peter Wanjala who witnessed the early morning accident said the area was foggy.

“He was crossing the road and probably did not see the vehicle because there was a lot of fog. The vehicle was however moving at a very high speed and there was no hooting,” Wanjala said.

Naivasha OCPD Titus Munyoki was not reachable to confirm the story.

“We are conducting investigations and hopefully we will arrest the driver who caused the accident,” a senior police officer from Naivasha who sought anonymity told this writer.

The officer said the body was taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital Mortuary.

The accident happened barely 24 hours after the residents of Ihindu village threatened to block the busy highway over increased cases of accidents. One person died at Ihindu after being hit by a private car on Monday.
