Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has been accused of masterminding the rejection of Machakos County Executive nominees.

According to Daily Nation Ndeti, who contested against Mutua in August General election, hatched a plot to ensure that his nominees are rejected. The rejected nominees are Faith Wathome, Kimeu Kimeu and Ruth Mutua.

Ndeti is said to have conspired with several county officials to present fake documents during the vetting process, which led to their rejection by the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs.

The documents, which were presented in court, indicate that Ms Ndeti allegedly instructed an employee of Makueni County, Meshak Musyoki, to engage a lawyer, whose identity has not been disclosed to prepare a fake affidavit against nominees.

Speaking after the nominees were rejected, Mutua said that he was aware of the plan to frustrate him.

“It was clear from the beginning that the vetting process had been infiltrated by malice and partisan political considerations. The committee acted in bad faith and has been hell bent to stop the Executive from executing development and providing services to Wananchi,” said Governor Mutua, as quoted by Citizen.

Ndeti has maintained that she won the last general election. She has accused Mutua and The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of conspiring to deny her victory.  In the ongoing election petition, Ndeti wants Mutua’s win nullified for a fresh election.
