Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has accused large communities of not giving the minority the right to express themselves in matters leadership. Raila said this while addressing Kenyans living Washington DC.

“People tend to forget that the real issue facing Kenya is bigger than rigged elections. It is how we want to live. We are being ruled without having a say,” Raila said.

Odinga also weighed in on the reintroduction of a Prime Minister slot. He said that such a provision will help minority communities in Kenya to have a share in the government of the day. Raila proposed a revisit of the original Bomas constitutional draft.

“The original Bomas draft of the constitution had a hybrid system of government, where we had a prime minister and the president,” he added as reported by the Star.

Meanwhile, Raila has formed a National Resistance Movement that he says will be used to push for reforms. The move has paid off in several pro-NRM counties.
