The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the 2017 presidential race. Over 6 million Kenyans who voted for NASA have lost but Kalonzo Musyoka is the worst beaten.

As Raila Odinga seeks alternative means to get justice, he will be celebrated as a Democrat who fought for a better Kenya. He will rest a hero to all politically sober Kenyans despite his four attempts that have not taken him to State House. However, Musyoka has lost.

A NASA win was a great cushion to Musyoka’s presidential bid after the transition government. He would have used the achievements of their government as a campaign tool. However, this loss makes his walk to the House on the Hill a tough task.

Musyoka will struggle to remain in the limelight. The partial media will concentrate those in power as Musyoka retreats to cement his home support before concentrating on national politics. Will Kalonzo Musyoka fit in Raila’s shoes?
