Reasons have emerged why Jubilee Party decided to support ODM candidates in the recent parliamentary voting against other NASA affiliates.

Prior to the voting exercise, it has emerged that Jubilee met and agreed to support ODM as this would cause disquiet in the opposition coalition and lead to its breaking up.

This would lead to a long term dominance by Jubilee.

According to a Jubilee MP quoted by Nation, this was the reason why ODM's Opiyo Wandayi easily scooped the PAC chairmanship.

“We saw it better to vote as a bloc. We did our analysis and saw it better to give PAC to Wandayi as it would make the ANC MPs angry,” the MP said.

Speaking prior to the PIC vote, the legislator hinted that Butere MP Tindi Mwale would lose the seat, even as the conundrum for them remained that Majority Leader Aden Duale was supporting and Wajir East MP Rashid Kassim of Wiper.

On his part Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has claimed that they deliberately went out to power over their affiliate partners in NASA because of bad history between them.

“We are the majority and have been very lenient and patient with our brothers, but they let us down in the 11th Parliament," he said.

"Why should ODM always get the short end of the stick while it has the majority of MPs who also worked hard for the party during elections and need to be rewarded?” another second-term ODM MP asked.
