The opposition has an option of moving to the Supreme Court once again to seek nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win.

However, Raila Odinga should not waste time because the controversial elections laws will not grant him a win.

Chief Justice David Maraga and other Supreme Court judges will have a tough task reversing IEBC declaration that President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto were validly elected in the just concluded repeat presidential polls.

The Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2017 will not allow James Orengo and company to bully their learned friends in the courtroom.

The act will be published in the Kenya Gazette this week hence dwindling Raila’s chances of having another election through Supreme Court.

Friday is the last day Jubilee has to publish the Act which attracted massive criticism for the hurried passing by Jubilee affiliated leaders.

“This Act may be cited as the Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2017 and shall come into force upon publication in the Gazette,” reads part of the act.

The burden of proof will be squarely on Odinga making it hard for him to use the court to invalidate Uhuru’s win.
