Kisii county commissioner Chege Mwangi has issued a stern warning to politicians who holds non-educational meetings in learning institutions.

Speaking at a function in Kisii where he was addressing provincial administrators, Mwangi said he is still liaising with the education ministry to give him a go ahead so that the perpetrators will meet the full force of the law.

He added that of late learning institutions have been marred by noise following public address systems being used by politicians in schools which hinders learning.

"We are soon going to start apprehending those people who are fond of holding non-educational meetings within learning institutions," he said.

On the other hand, the county security chief urged provincial administrators within borders of Kisii county to ensure that they provide civic education on the ongoing voter registration process.

"We are experiencing low voter registration turnout due to inadequate civic education," said Mwangi.

"I, therefore, I call upon all the chiefs, assistant chiefs and any provincial administrators to ensure that conduct proper awareness on the exercise," he added.
