According to Daily Nation, influential persons, whose identities have not been revealed are behind the budget cut in a bid to frustrate the second-in-command as he seeks to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

A number of teams attached to the Kalenjin political kingpin, who is considered the front-runner in the race for Presidency, are yet to receive their allowance.

The frustration has since curtailed the movements of the allies across the nation.

The revelation comes days after President Uhuru, who is working around the clock to leave behind a legacy, warned Cabinet Secretaries against early campaigns.

The Head of State threatened to fire any CS who will derail his agenda.

Protocol officers, large media crew, security and drivers in the office of the DP will have to wait longer to receive their allowances since the final quarter of last year.

A section of leaders have been faulting Ruto for conducting earlier campaigns using the TangaTanga movement.

Ruto has since asked his allies not campaign before the right time. He has called upon his die-hards to engage in meaningful things instead of campaigning for him.
