Yusuf Abdi Hassan is the Kamukunji MP serving his second term in office.
Hassan was elected first in 2013 on a TNA ticket and retained the seat in the 2017 general election on a Jubilee party ticket.

But who is Yusuf Hassan?
1. Birth
He was born in 1953 in Nairobi.
2. Family
Hassan is married to Susannah Rice, an English woman and are blessed with five children.
The MP speaks Somali, English, French, Arabic and Swahili.
3. Schooling
Hassan schooled at Garissa Primary school in Garissa before moving to Nairobi’s Aga Khan primary school.
He went to Taranganya High school in Kuria but was expelled from school for leading a strike.
4. Graduate
The MP studied Bachelor of Arts at the University of Middlesex in London.
5. Employment
In 1974, Hassan was employed as an announcer/producer by the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
6. Politics
Hassan joined active politics in 2007 and lost the Kamukunji parliamentary election on ODM ticket.
In 2013, he quit ODM and joined TNA winning the Kamukunji seat.
In 2017, he retained the seat on Jubilee Party ticket.
7. Hobbies
Hassan loves reading Quran and traveling.
The MP says his focus is to serve Kamukunji residents.
There are speculations that the MP could bid for the Nairobi senate seat in 2022.
