The order was given by Migori County branch ODM Chairman Philip Makabong’o.

Speaking to Radio Namlolwe, Makabong'o noted that the County boss should be removed from office over his continued absence, so that his deputy Nelson Mahanga Mwaita officially takes over.

“And I still repeat we cannot be run from the jail. The deputy should take over and that is clear in the Constitution, that is article 181, part 1.

“As far as we are concerned, the leadership of the county government is at a standstill. No services, everyone is complaining. It is the work of MCAs to give direction,” he told Radio Namlolwe.

The chairman directed the Ward Reps to impeach the governor within two weeks, or else the ODM party will intervene.

“The Assembly must discharge its duty. They should tell us the way forward if not they are part and parcel of the problem and I am firm on that,” he added.

Governor Obado alongside his aides Michael Oyamo, and Caspal Obiero, are in custody after being charged for the murder of the late Sharon Otieno and her unborn child last month.

The three are due in court tomorrow for the determination of their bail application.
