The County's Finance Executive Maryam Abdullahi said the aim of the exercise which targets all passenger buses, matatus, taxis and tuk tuks is to facilitate automation services that will ease way of doing business as well as meet stringent safety demands.

The exercise which kicked off on Monday, September 17, will end on October 31, after respective officers have ensured that all PSVs Mvita, Nyali, Kisauni, Likoni, Changamwe and Jomvu sub-counties have been registered afresh.

The exercise is also going on at the Mombasa County Banking Hall.

Upon registration, owners of the PSVs are expected to carry their Log Books and ID cards.

According to the Finance CeC, the exercise will allow full automation of services such as online/mobile payment of monthly stickers as well as establishment of an accurate and secure database of the entire public transport sector in Mombasa County.
