Speaking on Wednesday, Malala said that Khalwale did almost nothing while in office. He stated that the ex-Kakamega Senator was hellbent on attacking Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

"Yule seneta aliyekuweko aliamini kazi ni kutukana gavana, kuzunguka kwa matanga na kubebwa kwa mabega za watu lakini sisi tumeleta mwamko mpya (the former senator believed in insulting the governor, attending funerals and riding on people's shoulders but we have brought a new dawn)," he said.

He was speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi show on Wednesday morning.

Malala said that unlike Khalwale who never saw eye to eye with Oparanya, he has been holding talks with him and briefing him on the state of things on the ground.

He added that he has as well been working closely the county boss in addressing issues affecting the people which has resulted in calm and a good working environment.

"Sisi tunakaa chini na gavana na kama shida ni madawa kwa hospitali namweleza (We do sit with the governor and if the problem is a shortage of medicine in hospitals, I do tell him)," he added.
