Rivalry between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula was extended to Nyamira County Assembly on Thursday during election of deputy speaker.
Despite Raila's warning from Orange House, ODM MCAs could not save deputy speaker Duke Omoti who was impeached over misuse of power.
And with ODM keen to recapture the seat, Ford Kenya's Bonyamatuta MCA Robinson Mocheche carried the day after going unopposed.
Initially, the ODM party had sponsored Bokeira MCA Callen Atuya who would later bolt out of the race.
Already, the Orange party has summoned six MCAs following the ouster of Omoti and are expected to explain in a week's time why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.
They include Majority Leader Duke Masira, George Morara, Monicah Mwamba, Carolyne Mogere, Abel Mose and Damaris Mouni.
Last month, Wetangula visited the region and made his quest for presidency open.
