Speaking on Milele FM early Tuesday, the former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant further weighed in on the sibling rivalry between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, both of whom are eyeing the country's top seat.

With both hailing from the vote-rich Rift Valley region, Buzeki noted that DP Ruto stands a better chance of winning the seat and is more committed, as opposed to Senator Moi, whom, he said, lacks seriousness in his candidature.

"Gideon hajajitokeza vyema na kujitangaza. Atakapojitokeza ndipo watu watamsikiza na kuamua (he remains irrelevant until he makes his bid official)," said Buzeki.

On Ruto's side, he said, the Deputy President is more established and cannot be compared to Gideon in any way, noting that he enjoys national backing.

He, however, noted that the actual result will be witnessed when they face off in the race.

"Japo Moi ako na haki ya kuwania, Ruto yuko na nguvu zaidi lakini mengi yatajulikana mbele (though Ruto seems stronger, it shall he demonstrated on the ballot)," he added.

Ruto is most likely to race in the contest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta on the ruling Jubilee Party ticket.

The race also likely to include Machakos Governor and Maendeleo Chapchap Party Leader Alfred Mutua who has also announced his bid.
