A Body of a 25-year-old man was on Saturday evening retrieved from Kamburu dam in Masinga sub-county of Machakos county.

Confirming the incident on phone, Masinga police boss Francis Siror said the body was discovered floating by members of the public.

The body had no clothes apart from the shirt. 

Police also said the body had stab wounds on the neck, head and thigh.

"Yes, a body of a 25 year old man has been retrieved from Kamburu dam in Kivaa area, it was seen floating by members of the public who reported the incident. The cause of death could be the stab wounds but we can't say for sure unless a postmortem is conducted," said Siror.

The police boss further said the body might have been thrown into the dam from Mbeere area in Embu county and the water washed it up to Kivaa in Masinga sub-county.

The body was taken to Embu Level Five Hospital for preservation awaiting postmortem. 

"Anyone who has lost a loved one, a male of about 25 years should consult with Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary for confirmation," Siror said.

Investigations have commenced to unravel the mystery surrounding the death.
