According to those who witnessed the Sunday morning incident the man Zachary Ayuko claimed the middle-aged man was dating his daughter a matter that has led to poor performance of the daughter in school and he decided to take action.

“The two met at Suneka shopping centre and the man claimed he has been searching for her daughter’s boyfriends for three weeks now and he decided to fight him but unfortunately he beat the young man who started to bleed heavily before locals rescued him,” said Edna Begi a witness.

Confirming the incident area police boss Kepher Kipkoech said the matter was reported to Gesonso police post by the parents of the injured man and that led to the arrest of Zachary Ayuko.

“The man alleged to be the boyfriend to his daughter is seriously injured and is currently receiving treatment at Nyangena hospital and the man who committed the act is currently being held, as we investigate the matter and we will arraign him in court on Monday once we receive all the details,” said Kipkoech

The police, however, warned anyone from taking the law into their hands and called upon them to ensure any mistake is reported to the police or relevant authorities such as area chief for the law to take its course.
