Speaking at Pride Inn Hotel in Mombasa County on Sunday, Mutua said the former Vice President has proven beyond doubt that he is not worth anyone’s trust.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said Kalonzo is ever changing his political stand, which makes it hard to work with him.

“A leader should be a person who takes a position and sticks to it. I am surprised when people say they want to be President and then become so wishy-washy'. How can you trust somebody who keeps on changing his position about being your Commander in Chief? You cannot,” Mutua said.

He urged Kalonzo to stand with him in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mutua said he is the right man to take over Ukambani leadership from Kalonzo.

The governor, who has not been in good terms with Kalonzo, said time has come for him to lead the community.

He wants to be supported to contest against Deputy President William Ruto, among others in 2022 General Elections.

Mutua opposed the proposal to extend the President's term in office.

"No to removing term limits for the positions of the President and Governor. We need to create space for our youth and avoid a return to dictatorship," he said.
