Days after Kuria accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of starving Central Kenya of development in favour of opposition strongholds, Wanga castigated the Gatundu legislator for being 'selfish'.

In a post on social media, the Women Representative, who is a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, wondered why Kuria was raising the issue of Uhuru neglecting his backyard only a month after he visited Nyanza, a region he had kept off since his re-election.

"Did @HonMoses_Kuria only realise no development is going to Central after @UKenyatta came to Kisumu and Siaya last month? It's a classic case of a child who stopped breastfeeding running after the mother after a younger sibling is born. Nyanza pia ni Kenya," Wanga posted on Twitter.

In his reply, Kuria chose not to address the subject matter but told off Wanga in a humorous manner.

"Wewe Mungwana achana na mimi mshenzi (You are civilised, leave me alone since I am an idiot)," he tweeted.

On Wednesday, Wanga explained her comments were not out of malice or hatred but instead a complaint that her county has been left behind at a time the government has been bragging of initiating multi-billion projects in the country.

"Where I was coming from was the timing of Moses Kuria’s outburst. What we have been hearing all along is that there is development for the time Jubilee has been in government and I wish I could say the same for Homa Bay County," she said during an interview with Citizen TV.
