Top government officials have reportedly gone into hiding over fears of arrest in connection with the Ruaraka land scandal.
The scandal has sucked in up to 10 Cabinet Secretaries, several Permanent Secretaries among other senior people in the Jubilee administration.
Our mole said many of the suspects, especially Cabinet Secretaries, are not spending nights in their houses fearing night ambush.
“Things have become so hot, ata hawa maministers hawalali nyumbani. They fear to be ambushed at night and be humiliated,” our source said.
There are also efforts to have suspects be informed to surrender themselves rather than ‘be swooped like it was witnessed in the National Youth Service scam probe’.
Of interest to this matter is the mentioning of Interior CS Fred Matiang’is name.
A witness in the matter claimed that Matiang’i received up to Sh300 million in kickbacks.
Officials from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission are trying to verify the claims.
