Deputy President William Ruto has now turned his attention to the opposition-allied Luo Nyanza region, specifically the Homabay County.

Ruto who has not been very frequent in the region after the last general election.

On Monday, the DP declared the national government’s willingness to boost medical care in the region, including the expansion and equipping medical facilities.

In a tweet, Ruto pledged that the government has channelled funds towards the upgrade of the Tom Mboya Level Four Hospital, which will as well receive funds to acquire an ambulance.

‘’The Tom Mboya Level IV Hospital in Rusinga Island, Homa Bay County will receive Sh20m to upgrade infrastructure and buy an ambulance,’’ reads the tweet.

He announced the government’s commitment towards ensuring that Kenyans get quick and sufficient medical attention in public facilities.

Ruto added that the state is also tirelessly working towards cutting travelling costs incurred by Kenyans in pursuit of medical care, as well as hefty medical fees.

‘’The equipping of hospitals and expansion of facilities is meant to improve access to health services to communities, cut travel cost and huge bills to access Medicare. Keeping the population healthy will ensure a productive workforce,’’ he added in a separate tweet.
