The former West Mugirango MP, who died a fortnight ago, will be laid to rest on Friday at Igena-Itambe in a funeral that is expected to be graced by hundreds of politicians from across the country.

And Uhuru, who enjoyed friendship with Obwocha, said the former minister had requested him to complete Igena-Itambe dispensary, which is located few meters from his home.

"I am yet to come to terms because I even spoke to him four days before he died. I am still in shock but life must go on. He personally called me and asked me to complete Igena-Itambe dispensary and that is what I must do.

"This was his great investment to his people and I have given directives to have it completed soonest. We must continue emulating him, his humility and the respect he had for people," the president said.

Mr. Obwocha, who served as chairperson Privitisation Commission until his death since 2015, died hours after attending funeral to a relative just near his rural home.

On Friday, ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto are expected to lead mourners in a funeral that will take place at Sironga High School.
