The Orange Democratic Movement party offices at West Sakwa ward have been closed down over Sh54,000 arrears, reports Citizen Digital.

Area Youth Leader Evance Otieno said the officers were closed by the landlord after the party failed to honour her obligations for many months now.

Migori County ODM official Juma Akoko also said the party had struggled to clear the debt and efforts to have the matter settled could not bear fruits.

Sakwa West MCA Nestory Owiyo said he had offered to house the officials for now and promised to clear Sh20,000 as part of the debt, adding that he hopes for the party to clear the rest.

This comes at the time ODM party has acquired a multimillion building at Lavington following the expiry of it's lease at Kilimani area in Nairobi.

The ODM party was established in 2006 and us currently the second largest party in Kenya after Jubilee Party in terms of Parliamentary strength but it enjoyed control in 2007 and 2013.

Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna recently said they will field Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate despite the former Prime Minister often denying claims that he intends to have fifth stab at presidency.
