According to Boinnet, the threat comes after Haji renewed the fight against corruption.

The IG in an interview with Nation noted that his department is leaving nothing to chance over the security threat posed by the fight against corruption in the country.

"We are more interested in the criminals, not the officials who are fighting corruption. The criminals in suits, moving round in Prados," Boinnet revealed.

"We know they are very dangerous and we are alive to the risks our officers fighting corruption face. I cannot share that information with the media. Some of these things are best not said," Boinnet is quoted by Nation.

Security is said to be tight at Haji's office located at the NSSF building along Ngong Road.

Reports indicate that security of DCI boss George Kinoti has also been beefed following the intensified war against graft in the country.

After President Uhuru Kenyatta declared war on corruption, Kinoti and Haji have been vital in leading prosecution and investigations into major cases.

To date, a number of high profile cases have been prosecuted across the country.
