Nakuru is secure, but here are some routes which most people fear to use over attacks.

1. Around 'Kwa Jack'

'Kwa Jack' is the nickname given to the Nakuru Town County Government morgue in Milimani Estate.

Judging by the nature of the things kept inside, this is not a place many people would like to go near.

During my schooling days at Moi Secondary School, just a few hundred metres northeast of the facility, some friends especially girls would not use the route, especially in the evenings.

Others would start talking of non-existent smells when passing there, opting for other routes.

2. Around 'the Illuminati Church'

Still, in Milimani Estate, there is an abandoned church-like building which many associate with devil worship.

Some residents fear to pass by for fear of being 'eaten' by the devils or the devil worshippers, though it has never been confirmed to be a satanic altar.

3. North Cemetery

Slightly above 'Kwa Jack' and right behind the 'Illuminati Church' is the Nakuru North Cemetery which, ironically, is also very close to the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.

The place can be very scary at night judging by the purpose it serves.

Also surrounded by business stalls, it becomes a scary order for the faint hearted at night, most of whom even imagine devils creeping from under the stalls to 'eat' them up.
