Obado, who is set to face murder charges over the death of ex-lover Sharon Otieno, has been leading a rebellion against ODM party in Migori County.

Prior to the gruesome murder of the Rongo University student, who was carrying his baby, Obado was leading anti-Ochillo Ayacko campaigns ahead of Migori senatorial by-election slated October 8th.

"I swear to you, he knelt down at Raila's Karen home last week. He met Mama Ida Odinga and asked her to convince Raila to help him.

"In fact, am told that Raila has laughed off the plea adding that he can't interfere with a case being undertaken by DCI," the the source, who spoke in confidence.

Currently, Mr. Obado is locked at Gigiri police station with sources indicating that he collapsed after learning that EACC had frozen his bank accounts over money laundering claims.

The information cannot however be independently verified due to the fact that the governor's known handlers are unwilling to talk about their boss.

Taxi driver Jackson Gombe, reports the Standard, revealed to the police that Mr. Obado was present at the crime scene during the fateful day.

In an earlier statement, Obado claimed that he was in Nairobi when Sharon Otieno died.

"It's unfair that the DPP and DCI are succumbing to public pressure yet they don't have evidence to charge him of murder," said his lawyer Cliff Ombeta.

Last month, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna vowed to teacher Obado a lesson in Migori senatorial by-election race.

"We ain't scared of him. We shall face him squarely and deliver victory for the party," he said, adding that the governor was bankrolling Eddie Okech.
