The lawyer-turned-politician has dismissed plans by the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti to arraign in court Migori Governor Okoth Obado to face murder charges of Otieno saying they will be dismissed.

Obado is currently being detained at Gigiri Police Station after being arrested on Friday when he went to record another statement at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road, Nairobi.

Kinoti said his office had gathered enough evidence linking Obado to the cold-blood murder of the 26-year-old varsity student.

A DNA test conducted this week showed the county boss had fathered the unborn baby Otieno was carrying at the time of her death.

But in a tweet on Saturday, Miguna thrashed the planned charges against Obado saying the case is dead on arrival.

He accused the media and Kenya police service of mounting pressure on the DCI to charge the governor whom he noted was being used as decoy for 'PR purposes'.

"Being pregnant did not murder Sharon. It does not matter who had impregnated her. You have bought the silly story being peddled by the compromised media and @PoliceKE . The Kenya Police are behaving like illiterate juveniles. The incompetent charges will be dismissed," he stated.

In an earlier tweet Miguna had asked detectives not to rely on DNA on paternity but go for evidence gathered at the crime scene.

"The incompetent and compromised @PoliceKE , DCI and @ODPP_KE must be told, firmly, that we are NOT stupid. Impregnating Sharon Otieno wasn't a crime. Murder is. Matching anyone's DNA to her unborn baby is a useless exercise. Link the DNA at the crime scene to the murderers," he posted.
