Ruto while speaking on Friday at Amabuko Secondary school during a fund drive towards the development of Kiamirega and Amabuko catholic Churches at Nyaribari Masaba Sub County said the former Prime Minister should respect the constitution and retire in peace.

"The constitution doesn't allow Raila to vie for Presidency because he has hit the set age limit. Let him stop taking Kenyans in cycles to change the constitution so that he can vie for the presidency in 2022," he said.

He said Kenyans need young and brilliant leaders and not old leaders who have been in politics for a long period of time.

"Raila's time is up and he must accept that and go home to enjoy his pension. Our people deserve to be represented by youthful leaders," he argued.

DP Ruto reiterated that the referendum won't derail his 2022 presidential bid.

"The referendum won't stop Kenyans from voting for me in 2022. I will support it because it will reduce the burden of the huge wage bill," he added.
