With Raila narrating about his youthful days with deceased former minister Henry Obwocha and his decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta, a humbled Ruto took over the podium where he agreed with Raila to some extent.

Predictably though, Ruto also cracked a few jokes about Raila that left the crowd in excitement.

"Kama vile mnajua, Mzee (Raila) alituambia atatunasa. Alizunguka akisema mambo yamebadilika," he said in reference to Raila's campaign slogans.

He added:" Sasa sisi pia tukamwambia tuko pamoja. Kwa kweli sasa, mambo yamebadilika na tuko pamoja."

Contrary to expectations of many, Raila dropped his post election hard stand and reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While Ruto is said to be unhappy with the unity, he however asked Kenyans to back the two in a bid to unite Kenyans.

The two leaders are expected to reunite barely a day after the Nyamira event in Narok on Saturday during the wedding of Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng'eno.
