Laikipia Woman Representative and her husband were on Saturday kicked out of a Kericho hotel for lacking a marriage certificate.
Catherine Waruguru was with of her husband Wakili Kiget.
Speaking to journalists at the hotel, Waruguru stated that the incident left her feeling embarassed.
“As a leader I feel that I have been embarrassed and kept here for more than an hour trying to seek the attention of the manager and no one has answered my question,” she said.
A local MP tried intervening in the matter but was unsucceful.
Important to note is that Ms Waruguru is in a polygamous marriage.Last year, she defended her marriage stating that she was happy as a second wife.
According to teh hotel manager, James Mwangi couples must produce a marriage certificate in oder to access his facility.
“Every couple has to produce a marriage certificate to book a room,” Mwangi is quoted by Nation.
