In an exclusive interview on Saturday, Manyatta United FC attacking midfielder Ibrahim Ochieng said that everything he does on a football pitch is geared towards ensuring that one day he plays for Arsenal.

“My dream team is Arsenal. I believe their structure and way of play suits me,” he said.

The 19-year-old former Highway High School student said he admires three players namely; AFC Leopards midfielder Yusuf Nassir Mainge, Tobias Otieno who plays for Sony Sugar, and former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta.

Ochieng who hails from Manyatta in Kisumu was among players who recently toured and played friendly matches in Spain.

He was among players selected during the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom regional finals earlier this year, to make up the 32-man squad for the Spain visit.

The players toured Spanish giants Barcelona’s home ground Camp Nou, and watched a live La Liga match between Barcelona and Getafe on May 12, 2019.

“When we entered Camp Nou, we found Barcelona players warming up. I was very happy to see Messi warm up. I did not believe it; I am used to watching him on TV. It was a very amazing experience,” he added.

Ochieng and his colleagues at Manyatta United are preparing for the Chapa Dimba national finals set for Meru next month.

He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the Chapa Dimba Nyanza regional finals held in Kisumu in February.
