Shabana was too strong for Green Commandos as they smashed seven past them yesterday at Gusii Stadium. Shabana was under pressure to win having lost 2-1 in their last match against Fortune Sacco FC.

Early in the first half, Shabana was in front, after Anthony Ndolo scored from long range. Four minutes later Shabana was awarded a penalty four minutes later, Ndolo converted from the spot to make it 2-0 in favour of Shabana.

Brian Awathi pulled one back for Green Commandos before  Ndolo completed his hat-trick by netting his third goal after Green Commandos defense failed to clear the ball in their box. No sooner had a minute elapsed than Green Commandos scored its second goal. The first half ended Shabana ahead with a 3-2 lead.

As in the first half, Shabana found the back of the net in the early stages of the second half, Dennis Onyancha scored a rebound. Shabana’s Bob Mugalia was on target for their 5th goal. Green Commandos conceded a sixth goal that was scored by Onyancha.

The hosts rounded off their emphatic win by scoring a seventh goal, netted by a substitute, Daniel Murage after receiving an astute pass from Onyancha. The match ended 7-2, a huge win for Shabana FC.

Speaking to the Press Andrew Kanuli, Shabana’s assistant coach was delighted for the win.

Shabana is now 7th in the FKF National Super League with 22 points. Green Commandos remain 19th in the log with 7 points.
