In a video shared by Daily Nation on Wednesday, DP Ruto noted that the country has no food crisis this year compared to past years.

According to the DP, the setback is in distribution which he said is the responsibility of the counties.

To ease the urgent situation which is reportedly affecting 13 counties across the country, Ruto said the national government will chip in to aid in the transportation of relief food to affected areas

"The challenge is the distribution which the counties have been working on, we are now going to support the counties. As the national government, we have provided the resources, " DP Ruto said.

Furthermore, DP Ruto maintained no Kenyan has died due to any case linked to hunger.

According to him, the government is working with different agencies to curb the situation and avoid any deaths of the kind.

"Different from where we were two years ago when [a] 2 kg bag of unga went to Sh150, today the price is stable between Sh75 to Sh85 telling you clearly that we have enough food. That is why the food situation is stable," he added.
