Mr.Ruto spoke during handing over of the Jubilee party's nomination certificate to Wajir West parliamentary candidate, Ahmed Kolosh Mohammed at the party's headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi county.

He welcomed the decision by the aspirant to run on the party ticket, opining that Mr.Kolosh had seen a shift in political dynamics in the constituency and, therefore, decided to choose a party that would guarantee him high chances of winning.

The deputy president further sought to explain the reason why the parliamentary seat in the last election went to a rival party and not Jubilee, despite the fact that the party (Jubilee) scooped all the other elective seats.

He said that the party did not field a candidate for the position.

Dr.Ruto stated that: "The reason why we didn't win in Wajir West is that we didn't have a candidate. Now that we have one, we will go out of our way. We will leave nothing to chance. We intend to win."

After handing over the certificate to the aspirant on behalf of President Kenyatta, the party leader, he expressed confidence of the candidate winning the forthcoming by-election.

He went ahead to wish the candidate well in the prospective event.

"We wish you well and look forward to your swearing in after the election," Mr.Ruto told the aspirant.

Mr Kolosh defected from ODM party to Jubilee after his election was nullified by the court. A by-election was then ordered.
