Veteran politician and former Subukia parliamentarian has maintained that Deputy President William Ruto is unfit for the presidency.
The DP has since declared his bid for the top post in the much anticipated 2022 general elections, a candidature Koigi has repeatedly rubbished.
Speaking on Saturday, the former Assistant Cabinet Minister termed Ruto a failure who should not be given an opportunity to lead the country.
He is of the opinion that Ruto has been part of a failed leadership for the last seven years which he has served under president Uhuru Kenyatta and should exit the stage.
"By 2022 he will have been part of a non-functioning government for 10 years and has done nothing. If he hasn't brought any changes then why would he be elected?" he wondered.
He was speaking in a local radio station evening.
Wamwere added that the nation has many other qualified persons who can lead in that capacity and its not a must that the DP holds the position.
"Let him go home, we have many capable leaders," he added.
Ruto's allies have endorsed him as the best placed to realize Uhuru's dreams for the country, having been part of his manifesto making team.
