Kamande who was crowned ‘Miss Lang’ata women prison beauty queen’ in 2016 was handed the death sentence after being found guilty of murder.

Nairobi High court Judge Jessie Lessit while sentencing her to death on  Thursday said that she (Kamande) had not shown any remorse after killing her boyfriend.

The judge in her ruling said that Kamande intentionally stabbed her boyfriend 25 times.

“The prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused person killed her boyfriend,” she said.

Here is how Nairobians reacted to the court sentencing.

“She deserves the sentence because she also killed an innocent man,” Stella Mungai said.

“Justice has been finally rendered and the deceased soul can now rest in peace,” Marian Gichuki stated.

“I thought the sentence was abolished but all the same justice has been done,” Pamela Nduku said.

“I don’t think sentencing her to death was wise, the woman seems reformed and should have been handed a life imprisonment instead,” Purity Mutegi said.

“It should be a lesson to young people who take love matters very serious as the end of life,” Simon Mkaba said.

Kamande has 14 days to appeal the death sentence.
