The MP says that the discovery by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is shocking and must be investigated properly.

Speaking at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Tuesday, Noor said that it is not possible for 12 infants to die at the same time.

She said that there is something that went wrong and that those implicated slept on their job and should not be left to walk free.

"It is shocking and relevant agencies must step in and do thorough investigation," she said.

Noor said that no mother deserves to lose her baby in whatever circumstances.

"It is only mothers who know the pain of giving birth and on this case, people who might have slept on their job leading to the deaths must be dealt with," she said.

On Monday, Governor Sonko, in an impromptu visit to Pumwani, allegedly stumbled on some staff stuffing bodies of 12 infants into boxes and nylon paper bags.

Sonko says he made an impromptu visit to Pumwani after getting a tip-off that infants had died.

The governor has already suspended three top managers of the Pumwani maternity hospital.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has since called for a probe into the infants' deaths.
