Ambitious Deputy President William Ruto will be a owner of his own bank by February 2019, a close chief campaigner has revealed.

The bank named Destiny will be the latest of his business ventures, even with the ongoing probe over the circumstances which he acquired the land that houses Weston Hotel.

According to the aide who spoke in confidence, his interest in banking was approved by Central Bank of Kenya and has already handled the paperwork on the same.

"By February next year we shall have Destiny Bank in Kenya. The DP is ambitions and believes in wealth creation. We shall have Kenyans being employed.

"CBK has already approved it and what remains now is just identification of buildings and obviously the towns which the bank shall start at," he said.

When the bank comes officially into operation, Ruto will join the league of wealthy businessmen owning a money lending institution across the country.

Only Simon Nyachae, the former Finance Minister, who owns majority shares in a bank, Credit Bank with the rest being owned by group of individuals or government.

In an interview with NTV recently, Ruto dismissed allegations that he is extremely wealthy after plundering public resources.

"Mark (Maasai) there are people who own things in Kenya. I have nothing. I only have what sustains me," he argued.
