Kisii Governor James Ongwae revealed about the Wednesday's tour even as details about the possible joint tour to Nyamira remained scanty by the time of going to press.

"We are proud to host President Uhuru Kenyatta this Wednesday. He will be accompanied by various government dignitaries. He will commission various projects," he said.

In January, Uhuru canceled his trip at the eleventh hour following terror attack at DusitD2 Hotel Complex in Nairobi but would appoint Matiang'i as the minister in charge of all government supervisory role days later.

Jubilee Youth Leader Brian Mamboleo confirmed Matiang'i's trip with his boss with sources also revealing that Mr Odinga would be part of the trip on Wednesday.

"I will be welcoming our Super Minister Fred Matiang'i on Wednesday to Kisii. He will be welcoming H. E Uhuru Kenyatta who will be touring Gusii."

Last week, Matiang'i toured Nyamira where he formally hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta for his appointment. He has been in charge of the powerful Development Cabinet Committee for the last five weeks.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said Uhuru and Raila would be visiting as part of the handshake politics, adding that they are welcome to launch projects.
