Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has taken to his Twitter handle to declare an interest in the country's top seat come 2022.

Ojaamong who is serving his last term as Busia Governor also served as ODM Leader Raila Odinga's Personal Assistant in the late 90s took to social media on Saturday afternoon and made the pronouncement.

"I stand before you to announce my CANDIDATURE for the position of the PRESIDENT in the Republic of KENYA in the 2022 elections," Ojaamong stated.

The Raila Odinga confidant believes that he has all it takes to be President after Uhuru Kenyatta's term.

Ojaamong becomes the 3rd ODM politician to declare for the Presidency come 2022 after Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho.

Ojaamong asked Kenyans to join him in the quest for good leadership in the country adding that nothing can stop an idea whose time has come.

"Join me in this quest, with a future of endless possibility stretching before us," he stressed.

The former Amagoro Constituency Mp and assistant minister for labor during the grand coalition government is determined to emerge a victor in 2022.

His declaration comes at a time the country is preparing to carry out census population and the high political temperatures boiling over the succession politics.

Ojaamong is the political student of ODM leader Raila Odinga and a key confidant in the Party and believes he will get the endorsement of the party and the lake region economic bloc leaders.
