In celebrating her birthday, she chose to go to a children’s home to enjoy the day with them.

She took to her Twitter account to post her birthday messages and some of the photos.

“I had the pleasure of celebrating my 54th birthday at a shelter for children who've been rescued from sexually abusive family environments, some of which resulted in pregnancies. It's disheartening that even disabled/mentally challenged youngsters are preyed on by relatives," she said.

She took the opportunity to give thanks to Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko for his contribution in making her birthday a success.

“Thank you Gov @MikeSonko for your generous contribution towards my birthday. It enabled me make the day even more special for the children. We were joined by another family that also came to celebrate their birthday at the shelter and together we brought cheer to the community,” she posted.

Previously, there were claims that Sonko does not respect Passaris. However, he came out to dismiss this claims.

"We have not neglected or disrespected Passaris' office as she claims and we have on several occasions invited her to key county events," said Sonko.

Passaris noted that Mary, the mother who has rehabilitated children at her home should be accorded a state commendation for her dedication to the needy children.
