Mincing no words, Waititu described Kamanda, a member of 'Kieleweke', as a conman.

"I know Kamanda myself, he is a conman and I know the corruption that he has been involved in, " he raged to the cheers of his supporters.

The now embattled Kiambu Governor maintained that he was in Tanga Tanga to stay, and lashed out at members of the so-called 'Kieleweke', claiming that they were using the war on corruption for political purposes.

"All my political opponents have been calling for my sacking thinking that I can easily just be sacked. All those in 'Kieleweke' have been heard saying... I have stated clearly that I am in Tanga Tanga myself. So let those in Kieleweke campaign for Kieleweke. Let those who we are in Tanga Tanga under the leadership of Deputy President we continue with our line of support, " the governor said.

Governor Waititu maintained that he was firmly behind the war on corruption but called on the war not to be politicised.

On allegations that his administration was involved in corruption, the governor said that the allegations were being peddled by those ignorant of how a budget is drawn up.
