The detectives arrested the Kiambu Governor in an ongoing probe into the alleged loss of funds in his government.

Miguna said that the detectives needed to collect evidence before they embark on the plan to arrest the county boss and not the other way round. He faulted them for not following the right procedures before making the arrest.

He reminded the detectives not to skip some steps when it comes to the probe into the use of public funds at different levels of governance.

“This is my considered opinion regarding the @EACCKenya's raid of Ferdinand Waititu's homes and similar raids conducted by them and the @DCI_Kenya purportedly in "search of evidence." Arrests ought to occur AFTER not BEFORE evidence has been collected, reviewed and found credible,” he tweeted.

The arrest of the county boss came after his homes in Runda, and Garden Estate were raided by the detectives.

The governor appeared before Senate Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to shed light on the missing Sh2.5 billion for the financial year 2017/2018.

The probe into the loss of the funds continues to elicit mixed reactions from different quarters.
