Embattled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa says that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga has failed to address historical injustices for Coast residents as prescribed by the TJRC report.

"A genuine handshake must also address the challenges facing the Coast region e.g Implementation of the TJRC report in tackling land issues," she said during an interview with K24.

Jumwa said that Raila, in his past campaigns, has always used the issuance of land title deeds to communities in the Coast that lack this document but he forgets them once he lands in government.

"If Hon Odinga is genuinely helping the President to fight corruption, he should at least push for the TJRC report to be implemented," she added.

The ODM renegade added that Raila should show goodwill to Coast resident by naming those who have grabbed land since he knows them.
