Confirming the arrest, Likoni police boss Benjamin Rotich said the two minors are aged 13 and 15.

It is alleged that the two children stole the uniforms from a cloth line at a Kenya Navy officer’s home in Mtongwe on Wednesday.

The stolen uniforms were however later recovered from the suspects’ home as investigations into the matter continue.

The police said the two children are friends to the son of the Navy officer whose uniforms had been stolen.

The police boss said the Class Eight and Class Seven pupils were allowed to go home with their parents before investigations are completed.

Rotich said the two suspects will however report to Likoni Police Station on Saturday adding that the minors will be taken to the children’s court once investigation is complete.

“We arrested two minors for stealing Kenya Navy Uniforms. The children’s parents visited Likoni Police Station on Wednesday and were allowed to take them home.”

“The two suspects will be taken to the children’s court after investigation is complete and they will be charged with stealing and being in custody of Kenya Navy uniforms,” said the police boss.
