The decomposing body of Nairobi businessman James Maina was recovered in River Thiba, Mbeere on Sunday.
Maina went missing while driving his expensive Volvo XC60 along the Embu-Mwea road on April.
His body was found in the wreckage of the car and police believe he got swept away by water or he lost control and plunged into the deep waters.
When his badly decomposing body was pulled out, his phone and cash were intact in his pockets.
Police said they got Sh20, 000 he had.
Unlike everything that had been destroyed to a good extent after staying in the water for up to four months, the notes were in good shape.
Maina's daughter, actress Joyce Maina, has thanked friends and relatives for their prayers saying the recovery of the body will bring the matter to a closure.
