Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Wednesday held a meeting with Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, Rachel Shebesh.

The former Nairobi Women Representative was in her cradle home to discuss how the national government can partner with the devolved unit to address challenges facing women and youth in the area.

Shebesh hails from Kambururu village, Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu.

Waititu took to his official Facebook account to disclose that among the issues they discussed was the establishment of more Huduma Centres in the county to ensure fast access and delivery of government services to residents.

"Top on the discussion agenda was the Huduma Mashinani Programme - a joint outreach programme that brings commonly sought-after public services to Kenyans at the grassroots and Sub County level using the popular Huduma Centre model," he posted.

The governor said they also deliberated on how his administration has helped residents gain access to the Youth and Women Funds, with plans to hold an exhibition over the same being considered.

"We discussed at length various youth and women programmes including the Women Enterprise Fund, Youth Fund and Uwezo Fund and how my county is tapping into them," he stated.

"Plans are underway to hold a major exhibition in Kiambu County to showcase what the CDF and Uwezo funds have been used to achieve so far, as well as my county government's achievements in the last one year," he added.
