Speaking on the floor on the house on Tuesday, Orengo hit out at his counterparts for allegedly being held hostage by the executive, noting that it has failed to operate independently.

He said that the house whose majority belong to the ruling Jubilee Party has always passed and rejected motions under the influence of the Presidency, terming it ‘bure kabisa’ (very useless).

‘’There is nowhere the parliament has won against the executive, even the judiciary is better than this house and you call yourself a parliament? Bure kabisa!’’ said the Senate Minority Leader.

But in a rejoinder on Radio Citizen Wednesday morning, Sakaja hit out at Orengo for failing to give directions that could lead to realizing the same, despite being a leader in the house.

He accused the lawmaker of being dishonest in his remarks, adding that he has the platform needed to aid the house in realizing the results he desires.

‘’Ako na haki ya kughadhabika, lakini mbona hatumii nafasi yake ya uongozi kusaidia seneti kufanya anachosema?

(why is he not using his leadership slot to direct the house towards making the achievement?),’’ wondered Sakaja.
