Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi stated that bars should only accommodate adults and not school children.

"We have games going on in the County and that does not mean bar attendants should condone underage drinkers. Any bar found selling beer to underage children will be closed," he said.

Abdi reiterated that police officers have intensified security patrols across the county specifically Kisii town at night to ensure no school boy or girl sneaks into the bars to drink beer.

He called on traders to maintain high customer service to serve the increased number of people in town.

"Visitors going to bars and food joints should be served well and be given quality food. Whoever will take advantage of the visitors and sell bad food and products will be dealt with accordingly. The name of Kisii County should be built by serving customers well in hotels and bars," he noted.

The commander said any criminal related case must be reported to police for legal actions to be taken against the offender(s).
