Nyamira County MP Jerusha Momanyi has launched an attack at an elected MCA from Gusii region who referred Nyamira county as a Sub-County.
Ms Momanyi teared apart Kiogoro ward MCA Samuel Apoko after he disrespectful remarks he made on Friday at a funeral in Nyansiongo area in Nyamira County.
"We can't have a mere MCA from Kisii County suggesting that Nyamira County should be made a Sub-County for Kisii County. Apoko's remarks were disrespectful because Nyamira is a county with leaders," she noted.
According to her, Nyamira County stands by her own and Apoko has not been asked to help leaders from the region to serve the electorates.
"The confused ward rep should first perform in his ward before referring to our county as a Sub-County. Respect is necessary among leaders from Nyamira and Kisii County," said the furious MP.
She appealed to Nyamira elected leaders to embrace unity and prioritize development.
"People of Nyamira expect us to work for them and improve the county. I am calling on elected leaders to work around the clock to fulfill their campaign promises," said Ms Momanyi.
